Position Description:
Under administrative direction, this is entry-level technical work in the support of Geographic Information Systems technology within the Information Technology Division of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Employees in this classification create and edit geographic databases and generate resultant maps and other relevant geographic information for departmental analysis, management, publication and presentation needs. Position performs GIS and GIS tool development to support both “tactical” and “strategical” operations agency-wide. Position is responsible for supporting the technical GIS needs of existing users and performing maintenance and updates of GIS data. Work is subject to review by the Geographic Information Services Administrator for determining adherence to established policies and procedures. Performs related work as directed.
